Oscar 2017 has considered "Your Name" or "君の名は", directed by Japanese director, Makoto Shinkia. Congratulation to this great achievement. Due to so many positive reviews from all walks of lives, I decided to catch this movie last week (was actually stranded in Nu Sentral because I left my keys back home - Ipoh).

Full Month Celebration 弥月之喜 @ 民众酒家 Mun Choong Restaurant, Pasir Puteh

Foodie again! The nature of a true Ipoh Boy! Without good food, how am I gonna survive. This time around, the post is slightly overdue but it is definitely worth mentioning! My dearest sister gave birth to my niece and my dad threw her and her daughter a full month celebration (also known as 弥月之喜) at 民众酒家 Mun Choong Restaurant, Pasir Puteh. Pusing Mun Choong was notably mentioned here - [1] & [2]

Traditionally, Chinese would celebrate the full month as a blessing to both the mom and the child. Red boiled eggs (红鸡蛋) is to celebrate the birth of the baby and to wish her celebrating her birthday every year. Obviously, the marinated ginger slice (姜片) and the red wine (红酒) are for the moms, so that after giving birth, they can recover well.

Seremban Seafood Village 芙蓉烧蟹海鲜村 @ Seremban

Seremban is located in Negeri Sembilan. One of its most famous delicacies in this state is the Seremban Baked Crab (芙蓉烧蟹). It was an impromptu foodie trip Seremban with two of Ph.D buddies. We reached around 930pm, because we were lost for 30 mins due to GOOGLE MAPS ERROR taking us to other restaurants.

Confessions of a Depressed Postgraduate Student - Top 3 Mistakes before Entering Graduate School

"Never give up. Today is hard, tomorrow will be worse, but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine." By Jack Ma, China successful entrepreneur, Alibaba Founder.

You just finish your undergraduate studies. You are pretty much clueless or you may be one of the clueless one who doesn't know what to do with your life. Everyone around seems to be doing great in finding a new job, moving to a new place and some start their postgraduate studies right after. I was in your shoes last time and I made almost all the right call I could. But, as cunning as I could be, I made the LARGEST mistake, to get into graduate school without much thoughts. By saying it was a mistake, I didn't and don't feel regret about my decision but I could have a better choice.

Lee Hong Kee Restaurant 李雄记 @ Sungai Buloh

Greeting from Ipoh! If you have not followed my sad life story, I left Malaysia last year for UK. Finally, this year, I can enjoy the true spirit of Chinese New Year - new clothes, angpows, firework, food, more food and a lot of food. Anyway, Ipohboyjourney is back to his beloved hometown - Ipoh (^^)! Instagram pic (above) shows how graceful Ipoh is - a simple hill city with lots of great food.

Ipoh boy didn't work almost 6 days, this would be killing his Ph.D progress. Anyway, I have yet told/ ranted to anyone in this bloggie how awful my boss is. But, for this new year, I am gonna leave this rotten piece of my life from this bloggie yet. The reason for my persistent in writing post in blog is mainly to start my engine in writing up and releasing bad energy. This really helps me a lot in my work progress because every time I finish a post, it means I complete something in my life

Again, this post will be about food! A quite well-known restaurant in Sungai Buloh - Lee Hong Kee Restaurant 李雄记.
Lee Hong Kee Restaurant basically is famous for one dish - The Standing Chicken (栋笃鸡). Oh yes, such a stunt to attract people from all over the states to enjoy their food. Without any delay, let see how does a standing chicken looks like!

Goon Wah Fishhead Noodle 冠华 @ Kuchai Lama

Food, a necessity in life. Growing up in Ipoh, my tongue is trained to be very good in tasting good food. Early this year, my family visited me and bro in Petaling Jaya. After a long day loitering in Shah Alam, we drove our way back passing by Kuchai Lama. Just in case you don't know, Kuchai Lama is a great place for good food!

Thean Chun 天津茶室 @ Ipoh

Confession - growing up in Ipoh, my family and I were not that attracted to outside food. This is mainly because my mom cooks the best food in the world, sometimes even better than those Michelin-graded. Therefore, Ipoh's fame of its food was only known to me after 17-year-old when I first reached Kuala Lumpur. My KL friends love Ipoh food, but to me, it was just normal having such food. Anyway, to start my second post of the year 2016, let's go foodie then (^^) ~
